Portable Motorcycle Garages
Some vehicles are used every day, while others stay in storage for several months. If you have such a seasonal vehicle but no brick-and-mortar garage, how do you go about protecting your investment? Leaving the vehicle outdoors is out of the question. Continuous exposure to the elements, such as moisture and UV rays, causes damage over time. The paint may fade, the surface crack, and metal parts start to rust. Water accumulation, additionally, will invite mildew, mold, or dry rot to start forming. Purchasing a larger seasonal vehicle, such as a boat or RV, is a considerable cost, and leaving the vehicle outdoors shortens its lifespan. Smaller seasonal vehicles, such as motorcycles, are still affected. Although many continue to use their motorcycles in cold weather, others put them away and take them out once spring arrives. If you don't own a brick-and-mortar shelter, portable motorcycle garages are designed to protect smaller investments for several months at a time. Portable motorcycle garages are made from a galvanized steel frame and a polyethylene tarp and have an enclosed style. The polyethylene material is treated to be UV resistant, waterproof, rot proof, and mildew resistant. These properties protect a vehicle, once inside the shelter, from exposure to these elements. The breathability – the shelter doesn't allow moisture to be locked inside – also prevents mildew, mold, and dry rot from forming on your motorcycle. Portable buildings are designed in a wide range of sizes. While larger shelters are specifically designed for RVs, boats, and trucks, smaller portable motorcycle garages and sheds are also made. These smaller shelters are usually no more than 12 feet wide, 12 feet long, and eight feet tall. The smallest shelter available, in fact, is only six feet by six feet by six feet. If you're looking to store only a motorcycle, one of these small shelters would be ideal. For more storage options, larger portable motorcycle garages allow you to keep more than a vehicle protected.
